2010 New Journalist of the Year
Judges wrote: “Kristen Daum is a thorough reporter and fine writer. The profile of the governor was well researched, well written and
insightful. The story on the U.S. Senator and his dog was an enjoyable read on an unexpected topic especially in the halls of the
U.S. Capitol. The look at how a political party is rebuilding itself also showed insight. Digging into the financial donations of a
nominee for U.S. Attorney also proved enlightening. It’s a fine body of work and rose to the top.”
