A man was stabbed after a fight escalated just after 9 a.m. in a Moorhead home, police said.
Police have a possible suspect and are continuing interviews and an investigation of the crime scene, Moorhead Police Lt. Brad Penas said.
The victim's name could not be immediately released because he hadn't been fully identified, but his wounds are not life-threatening, Penas said.
The man was found by a passerby on the corner of 7th Street and 4th Avenue South in Moorhead. The passerby then alerted police and the man was taken to MeritCare Hospital in Fargo, Penas said.
Police believe the incident occurred inside the home at 614 4th Ave. S., where about five adults and five children under the age of 12 were sleeping, Penas said.
Police said the man accused of doing the stabbing and the victim knew one another and were both staying at the house at the time of the incident, Penas said.
The victim's wounds consist of "slash marks" about an inch and a half long to his torso and left arm, Penas said. He added that the wounds look as if they were caused by a sharp object, such as a knife.
As of 10:15 a.m., two patrol cars remained parked outside the home, and officers could be seen inside talking with residents.
One officer stood outside the home with a woman who appeared shaken up.
